JVE proudly assumed the role of electrical contractor for the cutting-edge National Train Control Centre, a pivotal data centre serving as Iarnród Éireann’s new signalling control hub for Irish Rail. This state-of-the-art centre also plays host to the metropolitan unit of An Garda Síochána and manages traffic control for Dublin City Council.
The intricately designed electrical systems comprise MV switchgear, featuring 1 No. ESB incomer and 2 client outgoers supplying power to 2 No. transformers. These transformers, in turn, deliver an LV A&B system to the building, ensuring a robust and reliable power supply. The facility boasts full redundancy, including 4 No. rotary generators and 4 No. static UPS systems, with a sophisticated switching strategy for partial or full blackout scenarios—all meticulously controlled by a state-of-the-art PMCS system.
The base build encompasses over 40 ICT cabinets, with infrastructure provision for an additional 100 cabinets, exemplifying scalability and foresight in technology integration. The building ensures complete resistance and reliability throughout its infrastructure. Furthermore, the PV system in place generates an impressive 70 kWp, contributing to sustainable and eco-friendly operations.
Security is a paramount consideration, and the National Train Control Centre is equipped with a comprehensive security system encompassing CCTV, door access control, and an intruder alarm system. The building services are seamlessly integrated into cloud-based systems, providing the added flexibility of remote control and monitoring.
JVE's commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of the National Train Control Centre's electrical systems and infrastructure, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner in delivering cutting-edge solutions for complex and mission-critical projects.
